Harry Demetriou wins £250,000 after gripping final of
inaugural Victor Poker Cup.
In the early hours of Saturday 24th July, Harry Demetriou
won the staggering £250,000 first prize in The Victor
Poker Cup after his pocket nines held up against Ram Vaswani's
Ace-King. While Harry celebrated and lifted the cup, the Hendon
mobster and bookie's favourite had to console himself with
a £125,000 payday.
The ten finalists were John Kabbaj, Sean Murphy, Gary Bush,
Ram Vaswani, Joe Beevers, Paul Lecky, Rowan McIntyre, Harry
Demetriou, Ross Boatman and Julian Gardener. The final lasted
just shy of ten hours, and featured some top quality poker
from a world class final table. Jon Shoreman's player friendly
structure won many plaudits, and ensures that TV viewers in
at least 20 countries will be treated to a display of high-class
poker.

The Victor Poker Cup is the newest and most exclusive addition
to Europe's high-stakes poker circuit, offering a staggering
first prize of £250,000 and an overall prize pool of
£500,000, the biggest in the UK.
The tournament featured some of the best poker players in
the world including The Hendon Mob, Dave "The Devilfish"
Ulliot, former World Champion Noel Furlong, Padriag Parkinson,
Liam Flood, James Vogl and Julian Gardener. The tournament
also featured 14 online qualifiers, together with celebrities
including Vinnie Jones, Grub Smith, John McCririck and Zac
Goldsmith.
